George Elmer Lynch

George Elmer Lynch passed away on May 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, unwavering devotion to his family, and a passion for music that touched everyone who knew him.

George was born to William M. Lynch and Nettie C. Lynch and was originally from Pennellville, New York. He lived between Pennellville and Phoenix, New York, until 2012, when he relocated to Melbourne, Florida, where he resided until 2019. He then made his home in West Columbia, South Carolina, where he remained until his passing.

Throughout most of his working career in New York, George worked as a forklift operator, dedicating himself to companies including Barnes & Cones, Northern Block Company, and in the receiving department for Lowes. After moving to Florida, he worked for Lanco Paint Company from 2012 until 2019. Once settled in West Columbia, South Carolina, he became a valued employee of The Building Center, where he worked from 2019 until his passing on May 28, 2026.

George lived life with a passion for all genres of music. He was a diehard Raiders fan, and enjoyed riding his motorcycle during his downtime. Above all else, his life began and ended with the unconditional love he had for his family. They were his heart, his purpose, and his greatest joy.

Those who knew him well will always remember George for his love for Elvis Presley and he carried that admiration into his own singing voice. With a warmth and tone that reminded everyone of the King himself, George's "performances" brought smiles, laughter, and love to everyone around him. Those cherished moments will never be forgotten.

George was preceded in death by his father, William M. Lynch; his mother, Nettie C. Lynch; his siblings, Ernest, Richard, William, and Debra; and his beloved grandson, Brett Chaffee.

He is survived by the love of his life, Diane Lynch; his son, Michael (Deanna); his daughter, Nicole (Jeremy); his cherished grandchildren, Namolieá, Juliea, Michael Jr., Elizabeth, Emily, and Joshua; his remaining siblings, Chester, Lucy, James, Katherine, and Jessie; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

George will be remembered for his kind and generous heart, his unforgettable big bear hugs, and the joy he brought to others through the countless funny Facebook videos and memes he loved to share. Above all, he will he remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his family and everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he may no longer be with us, his memory, laughter, and the love he so freely gave will forever live on in the hearts of his friends and family.
