Mr. John “Bo” Strouble was born on September 29, 1932, to the late Steve and Rosa Lee Davis Strouble in Bowman, SC. He departed to his heavenly home on January 31, 2023.
He moved to Columbia at the early age of 16 to live with a family member and began working at a car lot for a short time. He then began to work for Capital Supply Company, as a general laborer (Jack of all trades) until his health began to fail.
John was a hard worker, known for doing plumbing, Electrical work and working on cars. He met and married Betty Jo Williams Strouble in 1956, and to that union four children were born. John was a long-time member of Turner Memorial AME Church.
John’s memories will forever be cherished by: his loving wife, Betty Jo Williams Strouble of the home; four children, Sandra (Roy) Bell, Cheryl (Carlton) Atkinson, Sr., Michael (Bettina) Strouble, and Zina (Michael) Sinkler; eleven grand children, Shanun (Erica) Strouble, Felicia McDuffie, Torin Bell, Carlton Atkinson, Jr., Carimese (Chrishunda) Atkinson, Renaludo Strouble, Michael A. Strouble, Jr., Shanell Strouble, Fidelia Obioha, David Sinkler, and Michael Sinkler; 10 great grands; Two loving sisters, Mary Strouble and Thelma Neal and one brother, Steve (the late Dorothy Jones) Strouble. John will be missed by his nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
